Introductory course that explores two-dimensional concepts in a variety of processes and media. PW: Innovation and Creativity

A basic course for beginning game art and game design students wanting to gain knowledge in the creation of 2d game collateral assets.

Students use computer software to create 2D animations that incorporate traditional animation are emphasized, and video editing techniques are practiced.

Students engage in an in-depth study of 2D Interactive Multimedia Technologies stand-alone desktop applications. Coursework is concentrated on the development production. Focus is on both asset creation and scripting for these types of theoretical issues relating to this evolving art medium.

This course provides a hands-on introduction to the world of 2D design, combining foundational drawing techniques with digital workflows. Through a mix of traditional and digital practices, students will explore how movement, timing, and visual rhythm create impact and narrative clarity. The course begins with basic drawing and observational studies, 2D model design, moving into keyframe planning, rough animation, simulation and polish, giving students a full view of the 2D model design.

Fundamental concepts in printmaking. Basic techniques in producing black and white multiples in relief, intaglio, serigraphy and lithography.

Fundamental concepts in painting. Basic techniques in application using transparent and opaque painting media.

Advanced concepts in two-dimensional media. Studio focus on specific painting, and mixed media techniques. May be repeated for credit up to six hours.

Content and issues in two-dimensional media on the development of personal artistic expression. Advanced studio practices in printmaking and mixed media techniques with a focus. May be repeated for credit up to six hours.

Introduction to software used in the visual arts including 2D raster and vector images for motion graphics, animation, illustration and design. Specific course content will vary based upon curriculum requirements. May be taken for credit up to two hours.
