This course offers a broad introduction to the literatures of Portugal, Brazil, and Portuguese-speaking Africa, through a diverse selection of texts by female writers from the 20th and 21st centuries. This course will examine the differing strategies deployed by female-authored fiction, poetry, autobiography, and essay as they negotiate genre and gender, and issues affecting feminism, social relations, and psychological discourses.
