Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months’ work experience in current classification and hold a current Radiation Safety certification to register for this course. Overview This is a one-day classroom course designed to train designated individuals in proper procedures for conducting and documenting a radiation safety program. Participants will receive materials and guidance to conduct Radiation Safety Refresher workshops for previously certified ALDOT technicians. Topics include: Regulations for securing and transporting nuclear gauges Personnel monitoring protocols Response procedures for accidents or stolen gauges Instructions for conducting leak tests Required documentation and record keeping Completion of the Radiation Safety course is a prerequisite.
