This course covers the competencies required to demonstrate awareness, understanding, and the ability to apply the occupational hygiene decision-making framework and the process of Anticipate, Recognize, Evaluate, Control, and Confirm (ARECC). This certificate program provides education on the IH Technician level of the 2022 Competency Framework Understanding and Applying ARECC to Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety. OEHS Technicians typically have a minimum of a high school diploma with basic STEM knowledge. Learners for this course should have a basic awareness and understanding of OEHS fundamentals that allow them to prepare for, perform, and document collection of OEHS information and data. Time to Complete This course will take approximately 5.5 hours to complete. Participants will have 90 days to complete the education and take the assessment. Materials in this course include: A full e-learning suite of 11 modules incorporating presentation video and interactive activities​ The Competency Framework: Understanding and Applying ARECC to Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety AIHA’s Principles of Good Practice Section 2: Exposure Assessment Strategies A Strategy for Assessing and Managing Occupational Exposures, 4th edition (PDF valued at $130) A course glossary with key words, phrases, and acronyms related to OEA. A PDF document with links to additional outside resources To successfully complete this course in the online classroom, participants must view the presentation in its entirety, complete all module activities, and pass an assessment. An online evaluation of the course is included as part of the credit submission process.
