The course analyzes a body of works that are essential in the establishment and development of the literature written by Hispanics in the US. Although the main element in the course is the study of US Latino texts of different genres (essay, drama, poetry, and fiction), students will also pay attention to socio-historical aspects that are instrumental in contextualizing the literary text.
