VT: Documentary and Narrative

Exploration of the ideas and practices of still photographs as a means of visual communication in documentary and narrative photography. Applications include photojournalism, photo essay, editorial and other approaches to the picture story. Topics to be discussed include the “captured moment” vs. the “constructed reality” and documentary and narrative photography in the current age of social media.
