Introduces the nursing process and the concept of evidence-based practice as a basis for making clinical nursing judgments. Incorporates theoretical knowledge from nursing, scientific, environmental and humanistic disciplines. Introduces the concepts of client needs, safety, communication, teaching/learning, critical thinking, ethical-legal, cultural diversity, nursing history, and the program's philosophy of nursing. Requires basic understanding of medical terminology.
