Exploration of major topics African history. These may include precolonial states and commercial empires, resistance to colonialism and apartheid, religious movements, peasant uprisings, labor organizing, nationalism, Pan-Africanism and African history through literature and film. May be repeated for credit, provided the thematic focus of the course is different.
